The Finnish Collection of Building Regulations (Part E7: 2004, Chapter 6.1) describes three ways to limit the spread of fire gases: - a restrictor where the flow resistance (free area) according to the instructions limits the flow of air to 42 dm3 / s at a pressure difference of 100 Pa over the choke. a riser channel which acts as a restrictor when its vertical pitch is at least 2.5 meters and when its diameter is at most 10% of the length of the riser channel. a controlled fire damper (or smoke limiter damper) which closes when a smoke detector located in its vicinity detects fire gases and when building automation or a monitoring unit switches off the voltage to an actuator closing the fire damper by force.
Bag-shaped or flap-shaped back dampers, which close when the direction of destruction of the air in the ventilation duct (supply air duct) changes, are known outside the regulations.
The above-mentioned devices have the following known disadvantages: the choke limits the flow of air through to 42 dmS / s, but at the same time the structure of the choke allows fire to spread a limited amount of fire gases from one room to another through ventilation ducts. the riser channel is an effective way to limit the spread of fire gases but requires a considerable amount of square meters of floor space. - the fire damper (or the so-called smoke limiter damper) is an effective but expensive way to limit the spread of fire gases because the acquisition price is high and because the fire damper and the smoke detector require electricity and automatic control to function. - the bag-shaped back flaps require a lot of channel space and a considerable counter-pressure to close the bag, and it is not entirely certain that the bag will close. The flap-made throttles are sound- and fl technically disadvantageous in their construction. .
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the damper is made of a non-combustible cloth which closes tightly against the throttle plate when the direction of the air flow changes. The non-combustible fabric may, for example, comprise a web of silica or glass fiber. The fabric can be surface treated to further increase heat resistance. Such cloths are marketed under a number of different brands, including Tyglas, Tygasil, Z-Flex, Temtex, Nextel and Hytex.
The independent claims described in the claims describe various embodiments of the invention.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the jig is fastened between the throttle plate and the fastening part to fasten the cloth in place.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the mounting part of the back panel is on the central vertical for dividing the fabric into two parts so that the edges of the fabric can turn in the channel part.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the fastening part has elongated edges otherwise. guide wings for the rear damper to prevent one half of the fabric from folding over the other half.

The invention is explained in the following by means of an example with reference to the attached drawing where figure 1 shows a partially sectioned view of the device with the damper in open position, figure 2 shows the same view as figure 2 but with the damper in closed position, and figure 3 shows the same view as Figure 2 without section.
The device according to the invention consists of a fireproof choke plate 2 with openings 3 which are installed in a duct part 1. A choke damper 4 which is made of a non-combustible cloth is attached to the choke plate 2. In the middle of the back mirror 4 is placed an vertical vertical part 5. It divides the back door into two halves. The fastening part 5 has elongated edges 6 to prevent one half of the jig from folding over the other half. The outer diameter of the back panel 4 is 2 to 10 mm smaller than the linear diameter of the duct part. In the normal position of use, the back panel 4 allows an unlimited air flow through the device, in the direction of the space, without a large pressure loss or a significant increase in the sound level in the duct system. The device prevents the fire gases from flowing in the opposite direction through the device (backflow from the space to the ventilation duct) because the backsplash 4 closes tightly against the throttle plate 2 already at the beginning of the fire when the fire gases try to penetrate into the duct system. The openings 3 in the throttle plate 2 can be provided with a non-combustible protective seam 7 to prevent the jaw 4 from being pressed through the openings when the pressure in the space rises at the beginning of the fire. The outer edge of the backspoil 4 can be reinforced so that the outer edge of the backspoil does not scratch itself.
The device according to the invention is a fireproof and advantageous device which effectively prevents the spread of fire gases from one space to another through ventilation ducts without the device in normal use neither limiting the flow of air or causing a significant increase in pressure loss or sound level in duct systems. .
In the device according to the invention, the ventilation air supply duct is closed immediately at the beginning of the fire when the fire causes the temperature in the room to rise and the fire gases due to heat expansion try to penetrate into the ventilation duct. The device increases personal safety in homes, service houses and care institutions.
In the example given above, the throttling disc 2 has two openings 3, but the openings may be several in number or consist of a single large opening whose diameter is 10 -20 mm smaller than the diameter of the channel part 1. The back panel can also be fixed in its upper edge.
